Dong of the Planet of the Apes

Just watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes not long ago, one of my favorite movie of the year. So I did this childish drawing of bad pun and censored dong.

剛看完 Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (猩球崛起：黎明的進擊) (直接翻譯: 猩球的黎明)，今年目前為止我最喜歡的一部電影之一。那至於那個馬賽克就要來一點英文教室時間了。Dong (讀: 咚) 是越南盾的意思，Dong 的另一個意思就是陰莖 (俚語)。那 Dawn (黎明) 跟 Dong (陰莖) 的讀音有點像所以我就把名稱改為 Dong of the Planet of the Apes (直接翻譯: 猩球的陰莖).....呵...幼稚

(156天) 選日子

最近剛敲定了兩邊的時間和地點
有些人為了選日子特別去找師傅來算黃道吉日，有些則認為只要是大家有空的日子就是好日子。
看日子到底是迷信還是真的有它的道理?

農民曆從商朝開始有就有紀載了，主要以觀察太陽月亮來訂出一年12個月以及一甲子60年一周期的循環。
他們觀察與訂製農民曆主要是為了農民曆裡面的..."農民"
什麼時候撥種，收割都要看天氣，以前的氣象預測只能靠觀察以前的天氣來預算未來的天氣 (其實現在某些程度上也是這樣)
所以農民曆訂出哪天的氣候適合做什麼對農民或是漁民特別重要。
至於搬家結婚安葬等等大家也會希望是在好的天氣，所以其他一般的活動也會參考農民曆。
簡單來說說所謂好日子就是好天氣的意思吧。

先不管準不準，它都有一定的方程式(現在都是用電腦算)，只是每個人的見解不同，一個人算出來的好日子，其他人算可能是壞日子。
加上沒有一個公定的標準，以訛傳訛的方式造成更多見解的分歧。
所以日子到底要怎麼選才對呢? 既然古人的智慧結晶的傳承有待查證，也可以參考一下現代人的智慧。

(156 Days) Picking the date
So we just confirmed the dates for both location of the wedding.
In Chinese there are a lot of custom about which dates are suitable for what event. Theses customs dates back to 1766BC, when they started the calendar system. Initially, people studied the calendar cycle with the weather to predict the weather of each day for the farmers and fishermen. But other people use these system as well to have their wedding, funeral…etc. on a sunny day.
Then of course it evolves into which day will make wealthy and propose. Now days, we still use the same calculate method to draft the Lunar calendar (or farmer’s calendar). However there are many interpretation on the calculation, the so call “good days” can be different depending on who drafted it.
So how do you pick the best date for the wedding? Well…you don’t, either someone else will you to pick it or your free slots will be so limited that you will get whatever is available.

（170天）就是之前那個幫朋友做的小小的設計案子，但是很可惜不能參加。

(207天) 難忘的求婚
有了"鑽戒"之後就可以準備求婚了。女生都幻想著浪漫的驚喜求婚，男生都怕把計畫被搞砸，然後被念好幾年。
動作:基於西方文化影響，單膝下跪變成了求婚基本姿勢。在中古世紀王室封爵的時候武士就以單膝下跪來表示遵從 (就好像結婚後一樣…)。但如果你不想遵從或是不喜歡西方文化那你用鞠躬也可以。至於女生的基本動作就是張開嘴巴然後用兩隻手摀住嘴…我也不知道為什麼
地點:有人喜歡選第一次約會的地點，有人喜歡邀請親友團在餐廳，然後再找個朋友錄影。我建議找個旁邊沒有人的地方。這樣女生就比較沒有壓力說我願意，然後被拒絕以後也不用馬上挖一個洞。

創意:因為普通的"妳願意嫁給我嗎"顯然不夠刻骨銘心，大家都要搞個驚喜的橋段。你要弄大字報還是氣球的夢幻情節都沒關係。但不要把你的戒指亂放，放在食物裡或是綁氣球之類的都會造成悲劇，還是乖乖地放在口袋就好。

結論:浪漫的求婚很難忘，但很爛的求婚也是一樣的難忘，只要達成目的都一樣會記得(說不定爛的還比較好記)。但其實求婚的重點不是動作地點或是創意，最重要的是你有真誠的問就好了。

(207 Days) A Memorable Proposal

After you get your diamond ring, you can start to prepare for your proposal.

Gesture: With the influence of the western culture, a bended knee become the standard gesture. This tradition roots in medieval times, when knights were knighted by royals, they kneel as gesture of servitude (which is kind of true to marriage). For girls, the standard gesture is open their mouth and block it with both hands...that did not come from medieval times.

Location: Public place with a lot of people watching and video recording is bad. Because, the girls will more liberated to reject you, and that you will still have some dignity left if she dose reject.

Creativity: The regular “Will you marry me?” is not memorable enough. People come up with acts to surprise the girl. But whatever you do, don’t put your rings with weird places, tiding it to a balloon or put in in her food can lead to some bad outcome, better just keep it in your pockets.

Conclusion: Regardless of the method, she is going to remember it. It might even be more memorable if it was really bad. But actually it’s not about the gesture, location or creativity, just ask the question sincerely, that’s what matters.

(214天) 鑽戒選購指南 （其實不是）

求婚的第一步就是買一隻鑲著大大顆鑽石的戒指，因為鑽石代表著你永恆不變的愛。第一次求婚的你大概也是第一次買鑽戒，大部分的珠寶商會建議你花三個月的薪水，但我建議....先了解一下鑽石再決定。

鑽石的確是最硬的礦石，但它不是最有韌性的，拿個鐵鎚就可以把它敲碎（你那永恆不變的愛其實是很脆弱的）。

鑽石很稀有，但也不至於那麼稀有。在所有寶石中，鑽石大概是最常見的吧（你認識的人裡有幾個有鑽石，有幾個有藍寶石？）。

相對的，鑽石的的價值也不及其他寶石，其實除了幾個特別稀有的寶石以外，寶石也不是一個很好的投資（求婚鑽戒更不是，你可能賣你的求婚鑽戒嗎？不可能？那它就是一個不可能兌現的投資）。

大部份的鑽石礦都在非洲，但非洲的鑽石交易卻被用來買武器，打內戰，死了幾百萬人...看過「血鑽石」嗎？

那為什麼鑽石價錢還是那麼高，大家為什麼還是都想要？其實就是....我們的文化和廣告幫鑽石打造出的形象。就是因為這個形象，加上品牌效應，鑽石可以賣到它2倍到1000倍的價錢。

我知道不管講多少，妳們想要求婚時候有鑽戒。所以我的建議...不要花到三個月的薪水，看起來好看，足以她拿去跟朋友炫耀就好。看完被我洗腦的人，妳可以跟男朋友說考慮鑽戒以外的戒指。

順道一提：我知道大部分的人都分不出鑽石的真假或是等級，那你們猜我買的到底是什麼鑽戒呢？

(214 Days) Diamond ring buying guide (not really)

What is a proposal without a diamond ring? There will be nothing to symbolize your forever love. If it's your first proposal, it's probable your first time buying a diamond ring. Jeweler will tell you to spend at least 3 month of your salary on the ring, but my suggestion? Do some research first.

Diamond are hard, but not tough, you can smash it with a hammer pretty easily. (Just like your forever love)

Diamonds are rare, but not that rare. It's probably the most common gem around. (How many of our friends owns diamonds and how many owns sapphire?)

Diamonds are also not as valuable as many gems. They are also not a good investment apart from few rare and large ones. (Engagement rings are the worst investment, if you will never sell your rings, that means your investment will never make you any profit.)

Diamonds are good for funding wars, specifically the civil wars that has been going on in Africa, killing millions. (Have you seen Blood Diamond?....yep)

The reason diamonds are so desirable and expensive? ...culture. Our cultures believes that diamonds represents love, luxury...bla bla bla. With the addition of brand effect, diamond traders are able to mark up the price from 50 to 1000%.

I know regardless of what I said, girls will still want a diamond ring for the proposal. My advice...don't spend 3 month of salary on that thing. If she truly loves you, she will be happy as long as it doesn't look ugly. For those who has been brainwashed by me...you can tell your boyfriend to get you something other than diamond ring.

Side note: knowing most people can't tell the difference between real and fake diamond or the grade of the diamond, what kind of engagement ring did I buy?

（220天）為什麼要結婚？

因為從小被灌輸長大就是要結婚生子，叛逆的我總有不婚的念頭。
反正市面上離婚，婚外情，夫妻吵架很常看到，結婚這檔事好像也沒有什麼"功能"，只是增加了麻煩的作業程序。

我一直覺得不管有沒有那個儀式或證書，都不應該改變兩個人在一起的意願。
如果真的遇見了適合的人，就算沒有結婚也會一直在一起吧！
既然有沒有結都沒差的話，如果結了又何嘗不可？（存款會縮水就是了）

但想想好處，你可以讓另一半開心，家人開心，朋友開心 （至少Facebook上看起來很開心），還可以刺激經濟成長。

所以，我還是決定結了。

If you feel that the act of marriage doesn't effect your commitment does it means you shouldn't get married? Well, if you feel indifferent either way, why not do it to make everyone around you happy? (At least most people seems to be happy about it on Facebook.) Most of all

I did this while I was in Canada earlier this year before my brother's wedding. I didn't post it because I thought their face looked kind of weird...but oh well, here is it anyway. Tony wanted zombie so I was trying for a walking dead look...but it ended up a litte too happy...maybe that's a good thing.

英文教學時間，Cold sore (念起來有點像 cold thore) 的意思是皰疹，這邊的 cold 指的是感冒不是冷，雖然跟皰疹沒有直接關係，但因為感冒導致抵抗力變低然後造成容易被病毒感染，所以以前人才會把它跟感冒連結起來吧。

Why do clams open when cooked?

Happy Tuesday. Been a while since I draw anything, I started, but this is an old one still...

The real reason clams open when cooked its because the joint shell acts like a spring and opens the shell, while the clams use muscles to hold it shut.

When clams die, their muscles decomposes and loses their grip to the shell but the joint will still open up...which is similar to how our jaws open  up when we die...
